#AccelerateAction

At Next Sense, we believe that representation matters. Women in tech bring diverse perspectives, drive innovation, and make our company stronger. By joining the Equals Role Model Campaign, we want to highlight the incredible women shaping our industry and inspire the next generation to pursue careers in technology.

Progress in tech requires diversity, and real change starts with visibility. We’re proud to support this initiative and show that there are no limits to what women can achieve.

About Aarabhi

My work in climate action and development carved my path to the Netherlands and eventually to Next Sense. I have a background in Civil Engineering with a Masters in Building Physics. With over 8 years of work experience in the space of Sustainable built environments, I use my learnings and education to help realise energy efficient and climate friendly buildings.

As a Building Performance Expert at Next Sense, I analyse the design and operation of buildings to optimise and improve its energy efficiency and overall performance. At Next Sense we use technology and data to drive actions for climate impact, working with builders, developers and other stakeholders in the construction industry to inform and implement effective measures for positive change.

What qualities do you think are essential for success?

I believe that, quite ironically, acceptance of failures is a key quality for success, especially while working with new and impactful solutions. Failures often teach us more not only about our work but also about ourselves.

Reflection and introspection on failures are the stepping stones to true, long lasting success.

Senior Implementation Manager

About Ceres

With a background in museology and heritage resources, my transition into tech began through a role that merged heritage knowledge with basic programming to create websites. This introduction to coding allowed me to understand better tech roles and project needs. From there, I moved into working with databases and eventually specialized in SaaS products, managing complex customer requirements, AI-driven projects, and delivering innovative solutions.

As a Senior Implementation Manager at Next Sense, I am responsible for implementing our Smart Building SaaS solutions for customers around the globe. I combine my professional skills with my personal values to support climate action and reduce carbon emissions.

International Women’s Day is an important moment to reflect on the ongoing need for equality. While progress has been made, there’s still much to do:

We still face barriers at work, like the glass ceiling and the unfair distribution of “non-promotable” tasks that slow down our promotions. Many workplaces don’t meet our basic needs—offices often lack period products, work schedules don’t align with our natural cycles, and there’s gender inequality in things like office temperature. B Women also disproportionately sacrifice their careers for family care and carry more mental load outside working hours.

Beyond the workspace, on a personal level, medications and safety standards (like car seat belts) are created based on male physiology, putting our lives at greater risk. Regulations still limit our control over our bodies, obstetric violence is still a thing, contraceptive methods aren’t equal or even accessible for everyone, and we’re often forced to justify ourselves (or even ashamed) when assaulted. Issues like child marriage and FGM still persist.

International Women’s Day reminds us of all this and motivates us to work together towards an equal future.
